What We Believe

Theology

We as elders and leaders of Cross and Crown Church believe that there are both essential issues and non-essential issues in matters of theology. German theologian Rupertus Meldenius once said, "In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty; in all things love.” For us, the following are essential.

Fundimentals

Who is God?- We believe that there is one living and true God who eternally exists in three persons; The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three are equal in power and glory.

The Bible- We believe that the Bible is God’s Holy Word to us. Our Owner’s Manual for life. The Bible was authored by God and written by human writers under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.

Salvation- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved to the resurrection of eternal life, and those that are not saved to the resurrection of eternal damnation.

If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot lose your salvation. But you can give it away. Salvation is a free gift from God for all those who will accept it and cannot be purchased or earned through self-effort.

One Way To Heaven- We believe there is one way to heaven and that is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Jesus Died For You- We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he came voluntarily, lived a perfect and Holy life, that he chose to die on the cross and suffer at the hands of mankind for all of our sins. We believe he died, was buried and rose again after three days and has ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father.

Sin- We believe that all people have sinned and fallen short of perfection. We believe that we are made right again only through our choice to have a relationship with Jesus Christ and through that relationship, our sins are forgiven. Sin is sin and we’ve all sinned. God requires us to repent (turn away from) our sin and strive to live in Christ-likeness.
